We have FINISHED the house...time to move.

So it has been a while since we have posted to the "We Are At It Again" blog...we are done. After many years of hard work we have finished our dream house and made it exactly how we wanted it. Time to move! That is right after many years of work we have decided to do it all over again. We are in the process of purchasing another historic old house in the village and have plans to restore it to its previous glory. I know we are crazy we just love the process and the final product. Thanks to all that gave time and energy to this project. Enjoy the final post from the Chrisler St. project (thanks Chrissy for the great pics), and stay tuned for the next exciting project from the crazy Clark family.

Kitchen Backsplash and Column

One of the projects that we've been so excited about has taken the longest-restoring the columns we found! So far, one is complete, but we have another to strip and stain, plus all of the molding around it (and the rest of the house for that matter!) . Our other recent accomplishment is the tile backsplash in the kitchen. It came out better than expected and we are thrilled with the result!

Stay tuned for pics of the only totally finished rooms - Tabor's nursery and the upstairs bath.

Front Porch

Wow, we haven't been back in QUITE awhile! So much has happened, both to our home and in our lives. We welcomed #3 back in December, which slowed the project pretty much to a screeching halt! Over the summer, however, we were productive, so I think it's time to show off our hard work!

Our first project after moving in was to rip off the, ahem, lovely wrought iron porch and replace it with columns. With Carol, Erika, and Bill painting and Jason doing the wood work, the project went surprisingly quick and smooth! Soon after, Carol and Erika set to work on the landscaping. As far as we're concerned, this was a HUGE improvement!

We've Moved!

We're so excited to be living here after all of the hard work!! We still have lots of projects and plans, so always stop back to see what we're up to. Our upstairs bathroom door and the columns for the entryway are our two current projects, and Jason is considering redoing the front porch over his spring break.

Here are a few pictures of the house "finished" and full of our things!

Lookin' Nice.....

Today we took some pics of the upstairs bathroom with the new vanity and fixtures. You can also get a great look at the tile as well. Just a bit of molding, and it will be totally complete....

The real excitement, though, should be saved for the mantle and stained glass windows! We knew our friend Shawn was a talented wood worker, but we were still blown away by this amazing piece! It is a beautiful match to the staircase and the home and we could not be happier with it. The great windows we found at an antique show are the perfect compliment.

Tile, Mantle, and Final Inspections!!!

It was a long haul with the tile in our upstairs bath. Walls, floor, and even ceiling got the treatment, and at some points Jason didn't think he'd ever finish! Even Erika was impressed by how professional it turned out! You're also getting a first glimpse of the amazing mantle our friend Shawn built for us. It mimicks the look for the staircase and will be a great focal point for the room. We're in the process of staining that to match the stairs, so more to come on that piece.

The most exciting thing are the inspection stickers!!!!! We know you can't read them and they probably aren't nearly as exciting to you, but we a thrilled! The electrical inspection was completed last week and the plumbing this week. This means that next week, we hope to have our final inspection and Certificate of Occupancy! There is still LOTS of finish work to do, but it will be great to be in the house and pick away at it as we go.
